Immersive rural homestay experiences are all about living the simple life…residing with the locals and seeing life through their eyes. It gives a great insight into their simple routine and a first-hand experience if you like; assist them in the fields, pluck fruits from their orchards or learn about new herbs. Meals are usually with the family. Some of the local folk are very talented with handicraft

Aarohi, a local NGO has an interesting apricot oil pressing centre, where you can pick up oils, creams and such like from their shop. The locals also sell their products through this shop.

Maya Cottage, Peora Homestays

Maya Devi, who is also the “sarpanch” or head of the village runs “Maya Cottage”. This cottage is roughly a 1 km walk downhill from the highway. Your eyes can drink in the panoramic mountain ranges as you walk down to the cottage.

Rooms available– one room for four persons with attached bath and toilet and a kitchenette

Two double rooms and possibility for an attached kitchenette if required. Both have attached bath and toilet. Rooms are well appointed and have independent entrances.

Sundar Cottage, Peora Homestays

this cottage is roughly 300 mts above the highway. Well located with great views, the room has an independent entrance.

Snow view Cottage, Peora Homestays

Well located, on the highway, Sundar cottage offers great views of the Himalayas from within and outside the room.

Rooms Available– One fairly well appointed room for three persons.

Blue Magpie, Peora Homestays

Well located and slightly off the highway, this cottage has several room possibilities with great views from the rooms.

Rooms Available– one large studio room for two persons, with an attached bath and toilet, dressing room, kitchenette and two balconies.

Two double rooms with attached bath and toilet. All rooms are well appointed.

Dhara Cottage, Peora Homestays

So called due to their perennial water supply, Dhara cottage is not for the faint hearted, it is a good 2 kms walk from the main road/highway. The cottage has a modern part and an old part which is quite beautiful and typical Kumaoni construction. They also have two perennial water sources.

Rooms available– One well appointed large double room, with a small living space, kitchenette, attached bath and toilet.

Devinder Cottage, Peora Homestays

This cottage again calls for a 1.5 km bracing walk through orchards. The room is in the new part of the cottage.
