A Dream in the Hills
For over three decades, Sanjay and Vasudha lived in big cities, travelled the world, and worked in tourism and hospitality. On a holiday exploring the hills around Nainital, they discovered Parvada — a small, pristine village once declared an “ideal village” by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. What began as a weekend retreat soon grew into a dream to create a space where others too could experience the charm of this quiet corner.
A Home, Not a Hotel
Hosting friends and family in their orchard inspired them to shape Parvada into a boutique retreat — warm, homely, and deeply connected to its surroundings. Unlike the bustle of Mukteshwar’s hotels, Parvada was envisioned as a place of “inaction” — where guests could slow down, breathe the mountain air, and simply enjoy the stillness of the hills.

Designing with Care
Parvada’s vision took shape with the help of close friends who shared the dream. Somendra “Dodo” Gupta, a hobby designer based in Parvada, brought Sanjay and Vasudha’s ideas to life with sensitivity to light, air, and landscape. Builder Hargobind “Hemu” Pandey ensured that this vision was realised with care and flexibility, helping preserve 90% of the trees and limiting construction to just a fifth of the land. The result is a place where orchards thrive, walking trails invite you to wander, and every space feels filled with sun, mountain views, and quiet belonging.
A Shared Vision, Continued
Today, Parvada’s story continues with Rina and Avijit Chaturvedi — hotelier friends of Sanjay and Vasudha for over three decades. With the same sensibilities and beliefs in slow living, community development, and authentic hospitality, they carry forward the heart of Parvada. Under their care, the orchard retreat remains what it was always meant to be — a place of warmth, simplicity, and soulful connection to the hills.
