On The Estate

The estate is roughly spread over 3+ acres of land and mainly consists of fruit trees and native trees. Oak and deodar are the two kinds of evergreen trees that are found here in abundance. You can also find many other native trees that play an important part in supporting the flora and fauna. Adjoining the estate is a perennial water source; our drinking water requirement is fulfilled through this channel and consists of the highest quality of mineral water.

We have mounted bird feeds on various trees around the estate. We have trees like the “dudhila”, silver berry, hisalu and kaaphal which attract the most beautiful bird species of Uttarakhand and Mukteshwar. Some of these that we have spotted so far are the red billed blue magpie competing with the wedge tailed green pigeons coming in to snack on the wild fig trees and various wild berry trees we have on our estate, the slaty headed parakeets enjoying the berries of the dudhila trees and apples and the sneaky rufous treepie enjoying the bird feed in the feeders around our estate. The list is unending these are just a few of the bird species we have named here. We have put up photos of the various birds found here in our rooms (kind courtesy Sanjay Sondhi, a naturalist, writer and photographer)

Start your day energized with yoga and meditation or just floor exercises if that’s your preference. In the evenings this hall converts to a cosy cinema room. We usually have a showing of one movie every evening.

Whilst you can be in the lounge at any time of the day or evening, you would not want to miss the outdoor fresh air and sun during the day.

Play cards, board games or just gather around to discuss the day… it’s all possible at The Lounge.

Walk around the estate

Walk around the estate with our team who can point out the native trees and take you through the orchard. You get to experience the beautiful trees, flowers, fruits and different types of vegetation. Surrounding our estate is the beautiful village of Parvada where you can interact with the locals, be invited to visit their homes, enjoy stories about their ancestral homes which were made of local stone (patal) and mud. Experience being a mountain goat, climbing and jumping down the numerous contours of the hilly land, watch the villagers take their cattle out to graze and have a lot more fun doing activities that we do not get to enjoy in the cities. Above all recharge your oxygen levels away from the chaotic city lives most of us lead.
